At St. Clare, we seek to be a warm and welcoming parish where all types of young adults and young families can feel valued and included. We look forward to getting to know you and hope to meet the needs of all young families and single adults in our parish and area. Please use the sign up form on the right to get connected to us and receive up to date information on Young Adult and parish events through texts and emails. Please note that some of the offerings below have been temporarily suspended due to COVID regulations, but we look forward to being able to offer them again as soon as it is safe to do so!
Singles: Get to know others in our parish through our young adult barbecues and socials and join other parish ministries and groups to get connected to our larger parish community.
Engaged/Newly Married: Our parish offers a great marriage preparation program--including sponsor couples--and is happy to accompany you as you begin married life. Come as a couple and find a parish group or ministry that you can grow in together. We also have marriage enrichment events at least once a year.
Families: We have a year-round Children's Liturgy of the Word program at every weekend Mass, nursery services at both Sunday morning Masses, and religious education through our school and PSR program. Families with children routinely tell us how happy they are to finally attend Mass at a church where they don't feel judged because of their children making noise. We also have many ministries for families and married couples to join and marriage enrichment events at least once a year.
Separated/Divorced: You are welcome at St. Clare, and we hope you get involved in our parish life and ministries.
College Students: We are located within driving distance of McKendree, SIUE, SWIC, and Lindenwood (Belleville) and can provide a prayerful sanctuary and community away from campus. We have plenty of ways for you to get involved and explore your faith.
Scott Air Force Base Personnel: We are located just west of SAFB. Approximately a third of our parishioners have been or are stationed or employed at SAFB. Some former and retired military personnel even come back to live here because of how much they loved the area and our parish when they were stationed here.
Young adults also participate in many of our adult faith formation activities and outreach ministries, including our parish retreats, soup kitchen ministry, men's groups, mothers' group, adult faith formation nights, Bible studies, social justice advocacy, the housebuild ministry, choir, liturgical ministries, Guatemala sister parish committee, and many more. See our list of parish ministries for more information.
