Matthew Flynn has a bachelor’s degree in Philosophy and Theology and a Master of Divinity, both from the University of Notre Dame. He has ministry experience in service, social justice, and faith formation in places as varied as South America, Hawaii, St. Louis, and South Bend. He has ministered to impoverished people with disabilities in Chile, worked with college students in Peru, lived in a Catholic Worker house and helped found a Catholic Worker community and newspaper, worked for the Catholic Campaign for Human Development, led a faith formation group for inmates at a county jail, and served as an adult coaching specialist at a homeless shelter. He joined the parish staff in the summer of 2015 and oversees St. Clare of Assisi’s various service and social justice ministries, Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults process for becoming Catholic, and Adult Faith Formation, including retreats, the Lenten Series, and other programming and events. He and his wife, Katie, have three children and are happy to call St. Clare their parish. If you are interested in becoming Catholic or would like to volunteer or sign up for a ministry, start a new ministry, or are having trouble getting connected to the right resources or ministry for you, please let Matt know. He is happy to help you and truly believes that Christ has brought us all together for a reason.
