Deacon Dan Kimutis retired in June 2023 (one day ahead of his ordination) from a 38 year career in manufacturing engineering and management across six different facilities and five states. Dan has a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering Management from the Missouri School of Science and Technology, and a Masters in Business Administration from the Olin School of Business, Washington University.Dan completed academic formation in the Permanent Deacon Formation Program for the Diocese of Belleville, through the Saint Meinrad Seminary and School of Theology, in May 2023, and was ordained a Permanent Deacon on June 3, 2023, by the Most Reverend Bishop Michael McGovern, and assigned to St. Clare of Assisi Parish. Dan and his wife Kris, of 38 years, grew up in Swansea and returned to O’Fallon in 2013 after living in Florida, Colorado and New York for 13 years, and have been St. Clare parishioners since then.Dan and Kris have three children, Jared (Monica) lives in Knoxville TN with their two boys and two girls, Alyssa (Stephen) lives in London, England with their twin girls, and Nicole (Justin) lives in Hamel, IL with their boy. Dan and Kris are members of our choir and lead our Homebound Ministry.Dan co-leads the Baptism Ministry with Deacon Len (Baptism Instruction for parents, and presiding at Baptisms outside Mass) and is involved in the men’s retreats and ministries, prison ministry, and youth ministry.Dan is certified as a Spiritual Companion with iThirst (The Healing Initiative, Recovery, Spirituality, and Twelve steps) to accompany those who are battling addictions of any kind, or who are impacted as family members. Dan likes all things outdoors, working on DIY home projects, hanging out with family, and helping and encouraging people.
