St. Clare Parish announces the establishment of the Tyrone Sanford Memorial Scholarship for Catholic high school education. To honor the memory of her late brother, former St. Clare Parish School of Religion Confirmation catechist Simone Wheeler is funding the one-year scholarship for a student who will attend a Catholic high school in the year after his or her Confirmation. The total amount of $500 will be awarded for the fall semester to a student who best meets the application requirements. The determination of the award will be based on applications from the students and their efforts in preparing for Confirmation. The amount awarded will be sent directly to the students’ school to be used for his/her tuition or books.

Will be confirmed this year
Will attend a Catholic high school in the coming school year

Applications are due by July 20.

The students’ Confirmation teacher and the director of family faith formation will provide information as to the effort the applicant has put into preparation for Confirmation through assignments, religion class participation, and Mass attendance while in the St. Clare Parish Confirmation program.
