The Masterworks Children’s Chorus announces its opening performance for the 2022-23 season, The Magic of Singing, on Sunday, October 30, 2022, 3:00 p.m. at St. Clare of Assisi Catholic Church, O’Fallon, IL. The program features music for treble voices, including selections composed expressly for young people. Highlights include a choral retelling of Mozart’s timeless opera, The Magic Flute, a work which, incidentally, contains roles for children. Another special feature will be the singing – and signing – of Bob Chilcott’s moving Can You Hear Me?, a song intended for listeners as well as the hard of hearing. The performance will be conducted by Masterworks Artistic Director, Dr. Stephen Mager, with guest performers Jennifer Adams, flute, and Megan Schmid-Smith, soprano, assisted by MCC accompanist Margaret Mager.
Adults ($20); Military ($15); Seniors (65+, $15); Students (including college students with valid ID, $10)
