I want to thank all of you who continue to help us stay healthy here at St. Clare by following all the normal regulations regarding the virus, namely wearing masks, social distancing, sanitizing hands, and staying home if you feel any symptoms at all or have been exposed.
Because there are still so many cases in our area, I want to encourage you to continue to make healthy and smart choices not only for yourself but out of respect for all those around you. If we can all stay vigilant in following the guidelines until things get better, we will ‘cross the finish line’ much sooner.
As one article I read recently stated,
“Being respectful of others’ health by following the rules is actually a spiritual and corporal work of mercy.”
While the restrictions have taken a real toll on us as a parish in terms of our normal community activities, taking this time of ‘fasting’ can be used to strengthen us in the long run as we focus on our love and respect of each other. This allows us to think of this as the ‘Christian’ thing to do and not from any political perspective.
You have all been ‘great sports’ about the limitations for the past ten months. With God’s Grace, we can carry on – with loving respect for others and undying hope that God is leading us to a brighter future.
