Our wonderful parish Facility Manager, Eric Schmitt, is retiring from his position here at St. Clare. Eric has been such a faithful, humble servant, who has done so many great things for us. You will still see him in the pew and volunteering but having more time for the outdoors and his hobbies. Thank you, Eric!
I am pleased to introduce Steve Michelfelder, who will take over Eric’s position. Steve and his wife, Laura, have been very involved in several ministries already and know the inner workings of our parish and facilities. Below is a message from Steve as he joined our staff this week.
“Many of the parishioners know me as the ‘help out wherever’ guy. At the parish, I am a member of the Hospitality Committee, assist the choir, run our Sunday livestream, and Poker booth at Oktoberfest, and I recently was emcee at the Pentecost Festival.
After many years as an educator, sports official, and a self proprietor, I am honored to join the staff. I have various forms of budgeting experience through schools, a non-profit and businesses. For as many years as I was a teacher, I was also a coach for a few sports. The fun, dedication, frustrations, and togetherness a team creates are always special. That coaching attitude is deeply rooted and will be a part of my role here – to create teams and roles and allow those special people to do their thing. In this role, I will help the many teams of volunteers and friends who keep this parish amazing. It is an honor to become a staff member of St. Clare.”
Thank you, Eric, for your years of service, and thank you Steve for saying “yes.”
