Every morning in my prayer, I take time to simply marvel at how the Holy Spirit is so ‘energetic’ and vibrant in our parish. One example is seeing the increase in how many new people have joined our liturgical ministries in the past few months. To see the young people (and other ages!) stepping forward in the roles as ushers, readers, cantors, etc., inspires me greatly.
Another movement of the Spirit was seen this week at the good number of parishioners who attended one of our Campaign Receptions. The Spirit’s energy in the room was beautiful. I was happy to see long-time parishioners mingling with those who joined our parish in recent years.
For those who were not able to attend the receptions, please stop by the table on your way out of Mass and pick up your envelope (to save us the mailing costs) so you know how your contributions are needed and make a difference.
The average person in the pew on the weekend may think the parish has plenty of help and financial support by what they see. However, all of this only works by each person doing their part. Imagine if each person paid attention to the Holy Spirit’s prompting to give and do their best for the parish! The things we could accomplish!
In gratitude for all your support,
Fr. Jim Deiters
