The Holy Spirit continues to stir up great things in our parish of St. Clare.
1. Stewardship - in our recent invitation for parishioners to get involved in outreach, faith formation and education ministries, it is inspiring to have 182 cards turned in, representing 308 people who have said “yes” to giving of their time for the Church! If you have not turned in your card, it’s not too late. Please sign up online at stclarechurch.org/parish-ministries. *Note that the liturgical ministries are separate and how wonderful that we have 500 people involved in those.
2. Oktoberfest - we are so happy to announce that our profits were $78,000 this year. This is remarkable since, due to the hurricane rains the days before, we had planned for half the crowd and half that profit. Last year we made around $80K. Given the circumstances, this is a huge success!
3. New Members - as we continue to welcome new members each week, we are especially thrilled that we have 17 people in the RCIA/OCIA Initiation process of becoming Catholic. Pray for them in their journey, and praise God for inspiring them to seek out a closer relationship with Jesus. Thank you for your faithful commitment to God and our parish. Our time and financial support are making a big impact on both the present and future of the Catholic faith.
God Bless You, Fr. Jim Deiters
PS: Next week, November 13-23, I am leading a pilgrimage for 22 parishioners to Assisi and Rome. I have tried to do these every 3-5 years to help more parishioners deepen their connection to St. Clare, the holy woman of Assisi, and our rich Catholic history and holy sites. I will be bringing your intentions to the Masses we will celebrate during those days.
