Short List of Gratitude When I was on vacation last week being rejuvenated by the Spirit, I took extra time each day to simply reflect on the blessings God has placed in my life. The first of those is God calling me to be a priest and to be your pastor here at St. Clare. I try each day to be grateful, but somehow vacation time makes extra ‘room’ to dwell in gratitude.
With extra gratitude this past week, I brought to my daily prayer each of you…and the way you inspire me with your faithfulness to God and our parish. To those of you who are here each week in prayer and to those who give extra time to serve in our ministries, thank you. And to those who serve in our special ministries to the poor and needy, thank you.
Thank you also for your financial generosity in support of our Annual Bishop’s Diocesan Appeal (Catholic Service and Ministry Appeal). I see we are over 50% of our goal in the first three weeks. And thanks for your weekly/monthly tithe toward our own parish ministries.
We each come to the Eucharist with lots of things to ask God’s help with. But together we remember that primarily the Mass is a prayer of gratitude for all the ways God ‘carries us’ through our challenges…and sustains us with His grace and love.
