From Pentecost to “Corpus Christi” an ongoing Solemnity!
This great feast of the Holy Spirit challenges us to become more AWARE of all the ways God’s Holy Spirit of Love is active in our lives, sustaining and carrying us through life… toward heaven. The primary way that God wants to renew us and get inside of us with His Spirit of Love and Peace is through the Holy Eucharist.
Thus, we have a great Catholic Tradition of a Eucharistic Procession of ‘showing’ the Eucharistic Body of Christ to the world by processing through the streets with the Sacred Host in a monstrance, asking the Lord to bless our town and country with God’s Mercy and Peace. This feast and procession this year is on Sunday, June 19, following the 10:30 Mass. Plan your ‘Father’s Day’ events around this procession and experience another beautiful part of being Catholic.
LOGISTICS for the procession: At the end of the 10:30 Mass, we will walk down Cross Street through the town to our old church (now the school chapel) on Third Street in O’Fallon. If you cannot do the one-mile walk, please join us at the Chapel for Benediction. A bus will be provided at the Chapel to take you back here for your car.
Invite family and friends from other parishes to join us. Parents and grandparents, this is a great opportunity to teach your children about this great gift of the Eucharist, which is so unique to our Catholic faith.
