Grateful Happenings Around the Parish… Here at St. Clare there are always activities that reveal the workings of the Holy Spirit…and many of you are part of those. Thanks for your efforts! A few things come to mind for which I am grateful:
♦ Our high school youth just traveled to the Steubenville Youth Conference, in Springfield, Mo., where they had powerful encounters with Jesus Christ through the Sacraments and Adoration and heard inspiring talks about our faith. The teens on our new St. Clare Youth Council did a great job leading the small group discussions for all our youth! Their chaperones said it was well worth their efforts and lack of sleep! These youth had great support from their parents, grandparents and parish families (some were from St. Nicholas). Thank you to all!
♦ Our all-volunteer mowing, landscaping and gardening teams continue to keep our grounds looking so beautiful and our gardens productive, despite the challenges of extreme heat and abnormally dry conditions. Thanks for your hard work and diligence!
♦ Our Oktoberfest Team is working well to bring to the community our ‘best-ever’ Oktoberfest on September 24 – save the date!! They could use a few more booth co-captains and would welcome you to their team.
♦ Our volunteers of all ages have been helping with our annual “Feed My Lambs” ministry of making lunches for children in need and delivering them to our neighborhoods. Thank you for being the hands of Jesus.
These and so many other behind-the-scenes disciples are examples to me of living out our faith…and I thank my God for you. I will be back next weekend for Masses!
Peace, Fr. Jim Deiters
