First, I want to thank all of you who sent me cards, gifts and prayers for Christmas! Your generous show of love and appreciation means so much to me. It is a joy to be your pastor!
Thanks also to all of our generous parishioners who put in so much extra time in our Christmas ministries in the past weeks. A few specific groups come to mind:
• All who donated to our ‘Giving Tree’ for families in our area as well as those who helped organize and deliver the gifts!
• All who helped our Art and Environment group decorate the church so beautifully that adds to our prayer!
• All musicians, vocalists, choirs, and instrumentalists who added so much beauty and prayerfulness to our liturgies through our great music ministry!
• All our parish staff members who often give extra time to keep our parish running so smoothly!
• All parishioners who have made extra donations to our parish and other charities, like St. Vincent De Paul, in this season of remembering Christ’s generosity to us!
On another note…because some people have asked me, we usually close our financial books during the second week of January in order to get your annual contribution statement to you in time for taxes. Any extra ‘year-end’ gift you still want to make will be accepted for the 2021 tax statements until January 7.
Thank you for your wonderful generosity over the past year, especially to those who recently increased your tithing. I am sure you can see the benefits of your giving through the many services our parish provides to our school, other ministries to our parishioners, and the needy beyond our parish.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
