One of the top signs of a being a Dynamic Catholic is GRATITUDE. Making it a daily practice to be more aware of God’s blessings in our life is rooted in scripture.
Gratitude is also a great way to counter our usual thoughts about all the things we ‘don’t have’ or wish were different. For the New Year, try and begin each day with thanking God for everything in your life. And every night, end the day with a prayer of naming 3-5 ways that God blessed your life that day.
I am beginning my New Year by specifically telling God THANKS for the ways you, my parishioners, bless my life. Here are a few things on my long list of gratitude:
for the care and love you show me
for your faithfulness to the Eucharist and our parish
for the way I see parents and grandparents trying their best to raise their children as Catholics by bringing them to Mass each weekend
for all of you who volunteer in our parish ministries
for all who generously give financial support to our parish
for all the cards and gifts sent to me for Christmas
for your reverence at Mass that helps me pray better
