I consider it such a blessing and graced privilege to be a priest and serve our diocese and parish. Presiding at Mass “in persona Christi” and leading everyone in worship and praise of God is the most fulfilling life I could ever imagine. I try and explain this to our young men as they discern God’s Will for their life.
Part of what makes our liturgy at St. Clare so prayerful is having so many of our parishioners involved in some way before, during, or after Mass. It takes over 100 people each weekend to cover all of the ministries needed for a prayerful experience. I want to thank all of you who regularly serve in one of the liturgical ministries – from decorating to cleaning; from Altar servers to ushers; from choirs to nursery volunteers – and so many more.
In May we handed out ‘sign-up cards’ to invite more people (new and long-time parishioners) to serve in one of many roles. All people who presently serve will stay on the schedule unless you tell us otherwise. Since the “training” for these roles is coming up this month, there is still time to ‘sign up’ and serve. There are plenty of roles for children and High School students as well. There is a need for more volunteers in the areas of: Nursery, Children’s Word, and Extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharist.
I am so grateful for all of you who help make our liturgy so prayerful and centered on God by the way you serve.
