Message from our Music and Liturgy Director, Stephen Eros
We are so fortunate at St. Clare to celebrate liturgies with great intentionality that embrace the rich traditions of our Catholic faith. Fr. Jim’s vision and leadership are the foundation for this, and it is an honor for me to carry out this dignified work with so many well-formed dedicated lay minsters, deacons, musicians, art and environment team members, and dozens more people behind-the-scenes.
I want to acknowledge three recent donations to our music and liturgy:
Thanks to the generosity of two families, a new Book of Gospels and Roman Missal were donated.
One couple stepped forward to donate new albs for our altar servers, ordered and on the way. We are so grateful for this donation to cover this expense.
Beginning this choir season, I have started a new initiative for a Choral Scholar/student. Our devoted parishioner Will Kinsella is beginning his studies in Music Education at Webster University in St. Louis. Many of you know Will, as he has been active in our music ministry since he was in the third grade. This position will provide him leadership opportunities within our choir that will complement his university studies as he prepares to enter the music profession. The Choral Scholar annual stipend has been underwritten this year by several parishioners who see the importance and value of this new program.
I am so grateful for the parishioners who are guided by the Holy Spirit to practice generous stewardship, whether it be with their gift of time, talent, or treasure…or any combination of those three! The next time you see, hear, or experience something in a liturgy that touches you, give thanks to God for working through the people whose generosity made that possible.
