Praise God for the many signs of Christ’s Resurrection here at St. Clare! I see it in the lives of our parishioners who continue to grow spiritually and live their faith at home and in the community by their words and actions. During these next seven weeks of Easter may each of us seek out ways that we can be people of the Resurrection in what we say and do that ‘gives life’ to others.
Our parish offers a special welcome to all those among us this weekend who are ‘coming back’ to the Church for Easter. I pray that if you have been away for a while, the Holy Spirit will touch your heart with a renewed commitment to return here every Sunday to “Keep Holy the Sabbath” day and show your gratitude to God for the blessings in your life. If you have been away from the Church and have questions or want to get reconnected, please call me at the parish office (632-3562) or email me (via our website) to set up a time to visit.
For those who are new to the area or looking for a new Church community, please stop by the Welcome Table today to register and become a full member.
Two important things about next weekend:
First holy Communion is at the 5:00 and 10:30 Masses. While it will be a ‘regular’ Mass for all parishioners, do take note that at Communion time the children will come to Communion first which will take just a few extra minutes. May they inspire all of us to be more reverent in receiving Holy Communion.
It is also Divine Mercy Sunday A Feast to celebrate the bounteous ways that God’s Mercy helps us on a daily basis! A large devotional image of Jesus as “Divine Mercy” can be prayed at our St. Joseph Shrine. Please see the schedule of prayers for this day on the next page of the bulletin as we are hosting this devotion for the diocese.
May our parish continue to be a witness to Christ’s Resurrection! Fr. Jim Deiters
