Even though The Feast of Divine Mercy was established back in the year 2000, by Pope John Paul II, many Catholics have still ‘wrapped their minds around’ the depth of its meaning. It is rooted in a vision that St. Faustina had in which Jesus appeared to her and asked that people better understand and seek God’s great mercy. The more we delve into Jesus’ Mercy for us, the more we will become agents of mercy, compassion, and love to others.

At every Mass, God’s Mercy is at the center of our prayer as we seek forgiveness and grace. But on this Sunday, we highlight this great gift to remind us of what really happened when Jesus on the Cross poured forth water and blood from his side to both cleanse and renew us.
