We are honored to welcome the college students moving into our parish who are beginning a new school year in the local universities. If you are new or a returning student to either McKendree, SWIC, SIU-Edwardsville, or other area school, please stop by after Mass and introduce yourself to me, (Fr. Jim). Also know that we have an active Young Adult Ministry that provides opportunities for you to meet other young people (text “Yas’ to 84576” to get connected!). At St. Clare Parish, we make an extra effort to have young people of all ages involved in our ministries since you enrich us ‘older’ folks with your enthusiasm and ideas. Welcome to St. Clare!
Hospitality Ministry for Everyone…
To all of our faithful parishioners who are here each weekend, thank you for making time before and after Mass to actively LOOK for people in their 20-30’s and go out of your way to introduce yourself to them. Your hospitality makes a big difference in helping young adults feel welcomed and choose to return to Mass on a regular basis.
Part of what makes St. Clare Parish so alive, Spirit-filled, and prayerful is the great mix of ages of our community. Our longterm parishioners provide a solid foundation of wisdom, our young families enrich us with new disciples, and our active high school, college, and young professionals bless us with energy and new ideas. Together, centered in the Eucharist and God’s Word, we help one another grow closer to Jesus Christ.
God Bless you on this special weekend honoring our great Patroness, St. Clare of Assisi! Fr. Jim Deiters
