This ministry promotes the sale of fair trade products from artisans and farmers in developing countries. In the fall, we sponsor a large before-Christmas sale that features high quality handmade goods. Volunteers are needed to set up, take down, and serve as cashiers.
This ministry promotes fair trade in commonly used food items by selling them once a month after weekend Masses. By joining, you can help provide a just wage for workers and contribute to a better economy. Items include coffee, tea, chocolate, and olive oil.
The Fair Trade Ministry is partnering with Bridge Bread of St Louis to help end homelessness. Created to provide opportunities for the homeless, Bridge Bread trains their workers and helps them establish a positive work history to use as a bridge to more traditional employment. Also, ¾ of the income from sales is directly paid to the workers in wages and benefits.
