St. Clare Parish Proud! If you have not seen them yet, be sure to check out our new YouTube video series called “Art and Architecture” that I have been working on. These 10-15 minute video clips (creatively designed by our Music Director Stephen Eros) give a brief overview of the highlights of our beautiful church structure and what went into its design, artwork, and construction. These videos are attached to the top of our weekly parish emails that go out on Thursdays. The regular Thursday email was meant to help you, our parishioners, ‘prepare’ for the Sunday liturgy by reading the scriptures ahead of time and looking at the text of the hymns and prayers used for the upcoming Sunday. We attached these video clips to it and renamed them “Theology Thursday,” since part of my explanation of our church building includes the theology, or Catholic Teachings, that are a part of our art and architecture. You can find the already released 6 videos by going to You Tube and looking up St. Clare Church, the same site where our 10:30 Mass is shown livestream each Sunday. In the videos you might get a sense of how proud I am of our church and sharing the thought that went into the design and artwork. But as I am writing the script for them, I am also thinking about how ‘proud’ I am of our parishioners, the real people who make us a “Church” – followers of Jesus! Thanks for sharing in the proud moments that make our parish so filled with the Holy Spirit and centered in the Eucharist. God’s Peace, Fr. Jim Deiters
