Building Update # 12
I try and keep you updated as much as possible on our upcoming building addition. For those who are new to the parish, after years of discussion about the growing needs of our parish, we are embarking on a building addition. To the west of the church front doors will be a wing for offices and meeting rooms. To the east side will be an expanded social hall and larger kitchen.
In the past few months, a lot of ‘behind-the-scenes’ design has been taking place, working closely with our architects (BDCM – Omaha) and builder (Korte Co.), regarding all levels of engineering and budget.
With that in mind, we are now planning for the impact of construction on the regular ministries of our parish life. The main church area and gathering space will not be affected at all. On the fellowship hall side, there will be a new temporary door put in place and use of the hall and kitchen will continue until sometime in the summer. The west side will be minimally affected since that will simply require taking out the far end wall. We will give you greater details as we move forward.
Thanks so much to all of you who are being faithful in your regular payments toward your pledge as well as those who are using the “red (development) envelope” in your packet (or online) to make donations toward the building addition. We need everyone’s help so it’s not to late to still make a regular donation using either the envelope or online.
With God’s help…all things are possible!
Peace,
Fr. Jim Deiters
