You’re the key to Oktoberfest success! With just 27 days remaining until St. Clare’s big Oktoberfest fundraiser, it’s time for every parish household to join in support of this important effort. Our Oktoberfest leaders have worked behind the scenes for months and have done a great job of getting things organized for the event. Now it’s up to all of us to step up and pitch in! It’s easy for you to sign up to volunteer and donate items either online or after Mass. Since we need volunteers to fill about 400 one- or twohour time slots, we are hoping that most of you will offer to help AND be there before or after your shift to enjoy the great celebration. Simply use the online link to sign up that was emailed to you on Friday www.stclarechurch.org/oktoberfest or stop by the tables after Mass this weekend. You’ll find information on making donations here as well!
The other main way you can support the Oktoberfest is through our Big Otto raffle. When I am handing out raffle tickets to my family and friends, I remind them that while this is a great ‘donation’ to the Church, it’s also a very good chance to win $10,000! The odds are just 1 in 250!! Compare that to the odds of winning the lottery at 1 in 292 million!! Think about making your own $100 donation to our parish for your chance to ‘strike it rich!’ Additionally, the $10 Little Otto tickets give you five chances to win $100! Be sure to send the online raffle link (also sent to your email) to your family and friends out of town: stclarechurch.org/oktoberfest.
Finally, you can help promote Oktoberfest to the wider community by taking extra flyers and tickets to your workplace, and “liking” and sharing our event on our parish Facebook page. Invite your friends to join us on Saturday, September 30 and let them know the fun starts at 4 p.m.! Oktoberfest is our opportunity for St. Clare Parish to connect in a big, fun and positive way with everyone in our area. Let’s shine for all to see!

P.S. I will be taking some vacation days from September 4 - 15. These are important days for me to have some extra time for prayer, rest and rejuvenation so I can keep striving to be the “best version of myself” in serving God and you. Know my prayers for you as I know you will keep me in your prayers. Father Jim
