How to Add Prayer Time… You hear me often in my homilies preach about the need to “make time” for prayer on a daily basis. It takes a couple weeks of ‘practice’ to make it daily habit but once you do, one can sort of get ‘addicted’ to the peace that God wants to give us when we spend time with him. If finding time and a quiet place at home is difficult, consider these options:
Daily Mass – plan time in your work/family schedule to join us for a simple, ‘quieter’ powerful Mass: Mondays at Noon, Tuesdays and Fridays at 7:30 AM.
Rosary – prayed as a parish before all Masses on the weekend; arrive 30 minutes early to reflect on these powerful Mysteries of the Rosary and then have a bonus 10 minutes of quiet before Mass begins.
Eucharistic Adoration – every Tuesday night, 6-7 PM, we offer an hour of quiet time in front of the Blessed Sacrament. Once a month we also offer Adoration for 24 hours, Sunday – Monday.
In Church on your own – our church doors are open 6:30 am each day and kept open until the evening. Carve out time on your way to or from work, picking up the children from school, or during your lunch time.
At first it can feel strange to simply sit in silence before God at church, but when we let the Holy Spirit guide our restless mind and heart…miracles happen! God’s Peace be with you, Fr. Jim Deiters
