This feast of Pentecost has always been called the “Birthday of the Church” as the Holy Spirit gave ‘birth’ to a new beginning for all followers of Jesus. Today’s feast is an opportunity for us to reflect on how each of us continue to ‘add to’ the ongoing growth and mission that the Spirit gave to us as a Church.
I want to personally thank each of you for the ways that you reveal to me the variety of gifts that the Holy Spirit pours upon us. Today’s Pentecost Festival is a testament of God’s Spirit so alive and present in our midst. I am so grateful for those who helped plan it, made delicious ethnic foods, and volunteer in various ways.
Pay attention to how the Holy Spirit is bearing fruit in your life each time you notice the Spirit’s Peace, Joy, Love, Patience, Self-control, Kindness, Generosity, Faithfulness. (Galatians 5:22)
On another note...I have been invited to be a part of the graduation at West Point Academy next weekend. One of our parishioners, Dylan Lyons, is graduating, and I decided to say ‘yes’ to the invitation in honor of and gratitude for all our parishioners who serve in the military.
I am honored to be a part of the graduation, have Mass for the graduates, and do the invocation for the pinning ceremony of our new officer, Dylan.
Mutual prayers as I will be away next weekend.
Fr. Jim Deiters
Save the Date!

The same Spirit of Pentecost will be with us for our Feast of Corpus Christi (Body and Blood of Christ). Please plan to join us for our Eucharistic Procession after the 10:30 Mass as we process one mile to our old church (School Chapel) for Benediction. For those unable to do the walk, you can meet us there for the prayer. A bus will transport you back to our church and your car. We will then conclude with our monthly 24 hour Eucharistic Adoration.
