Since our life as Catholics centers around the Eucharist, which is primarily a prayer of gratitude to God, it is meant to also help us develop a sense of gratitude throughout our daily living. My parents always emphasized the importance of being aware of our blessings and being grateful to God and those who help us.
My gratitude in prayer this week had me thinking about all our parishioners who are living examples of God’s generosity. Here are just a few groups of people for whom our whole parish is grateful:
♦ Our volunteer teachers in our Parish School of Religion (PSR) who finished a challenging year of teaching part ‘remotely’ and part in-person: Elizabeth LeChien, Jessica Oyakawa, Heather Schuster, Kelly Wulf, Emily Yost, Lucy Ueda, Brandy Range, Jeff Harris, Kelly Monroe, Brigid Sternberg, Sella Roman, Summer Gentile, Aidan Cutter, Aubrey Mister, Jennifer Fischer, Jennifer Camfield, Matt Schuster, Andrea Harris, Mike Oyakawa.
♦ Our volunteer garden and grounds crew who plant, mow, trim our beautiful church yard. Call the office if you want to help with this! Thank you: Bill Matzker, Mark Huller, Jim Deschesne, Pat Jurgensmeyer, Peggy Melone, Bruce Rackers, Linda Reidel, Bill Polka, Dave and Margaret Ingebretsen.
♦ Our leaders of our “Senior Group” who have returned for some fun gatherings each second Monday of the month: Judy Bugger, Mary Ann Winans and Judy Gavin.
As we gradually return to other ministries, watch in the bulletin for opportunities to serve God and your parish. For Pentecost, we will have sign-ups for our liturgical ministries, and later in the summer we will have sign-ups for other ministries.
