What it means to belong to a Diocese… Thanks for helping!
Thanks so much to those of you who have turned in your donation/pledge to our annual diocesan collection called the “Catholic Service and Ministry Appeal.” I am reaching out to those of you who have not yet returned your envelope. Especially this year, let us unite our efforts to show our support of our new Bishop Michael McGovern and the great things he is doing for our diocese!
It is so important for us to stay connected to the ‘bigger Church’ of the diocese and the universal Catholic Church. Our own Diocese of Belleville has a variety of offices run by lay people, who provide resources for each parish to have great Catholic schools, PSR and youth programs, ministries of liturgy, respect life, service to the poor, and many others. This Appeal supports these ministries, which help our own parish.
The diocese set a financial goal for our parish of $46,000. So far, we have collected $35,600. I believe we can reach our goal with everyone’s generosity!
Thank you for seeing the ‘bigger picture’ and being committed to being what it really means to be Catholic – being a part of something sacred beyond our own parish. If you did not get a mailing on this from the diocese, please pick up an envelope and brochure on the center table in our gathering space.
Or donate online at
www.diobelle.org.
May God bless our generosity!
