Welcome, all visitors and new parishioners! This is the time of year that we at St. Clare have many wonderful people moving into our parish, including newly assigned military folks arriving from other bases. We are honored to have you here!
This week our Stewardship Committee is mailing out a booklet that describes ways for all our parishioners to get connected and involved in our St. Clare family. The booklet describes the many ministries offered for you to prayerfully consider joining to share some of your time and talent. By sharing your gifts, you benefit our parish and the larger community.
When you offer your time and talent in a parish ministry, we all benefit. In a parish of our size, some people may feel ‘lost in the crowd’ -- and that feeling quickly disappears when you get involved somehow. And while it’s easy to think things are ‘running smoothly’ without you, each person and every household plays an important part and is needed to help strengthen our parish family. Please realize how much your help is needed to keep St. Clare a vibrant, prayerful place!
In the spring we offered signups for our liturgical ministries. Now, this Time and Talent booklet lists other ministries in the areas of education, charity, outreach, parish life, etc. We usually ask each person to serve in at least one liturgical ministry at Mass and one in some other area of parish life. Whether you already are active or new to a parish ministry, we ask everyone to fill out a Time and Talent card and return it to church on the weekend of August 20-21.
I offer a special invitation to those of you who stepped back during COVID to now step up and volunteer for at least one of our many ministries. It is a sure way to become engaged, get to know some of your fellow parishioners and serve others. If you do not receive a ministry booklet in the mail, please call the parish office or pick up one next weekend at Mass.
Let us praise God for the gifts He has given us… and may the Holy Spirit inspire us to share them generously!
