With almost 80 opportunities for volunteering at St. Clare, I am always encouraging each of you, from a stewardship perspective, to ‘step up’ and be a part of our parish family by being involved in one or more of our ministries. While it may look like things are going smoothly around here, like a family, we need everyone to do their part and share your time and talents.
I am especially grateful for all of our ministry leaders who organize our 500+ volunteers.
Our Respect Life Ministry is going through a change in leadership and I want to thank Mary Fleming for her 8+ years of service. Some of you may know that Mary has taken a new leadership position in our diocese in Bishop McGovern’s office. Mary has done an outstanding job in so many pro-life areas for our region and will continue to be a part of our team. Some of her accomplishments include: advocating just policies for women and babies, increased fundraising for women in need, building relationships with other pro-life organizations, prayer vigils at abortion sites, and many others. Thank you Mary for your witness to the Gospel of Life!
Our new Respect Life leader is Betsy McCarty, who has generously said yes to the invitation to serve in this role and will work well with the good number of people in this ministry. Through the intercession of Our Lady of Guadalupe, may God bless and reward all who are committed to the Gospel of Life.
