Next week, April 20-22, leaders from around the world will be celebrating the 51st annual “Earth Day” as we remember the sacredness of this beautiful planet given to us by God.
Pope Francis and our past three popes have all called us as Christians to be more engaged in caring for God’s Creation. In addition to some local events happening in our St. Louis area for Earth Day, I want to do a special promotion and encourage all of us to have a PICNIC more often! More specifically, I invite you to think of our beautiful parish grounds as a place for you and family or friends to have a picnic throughout these spring and summer months. There are so many beautiful garden spots throughout and sunset views on the west side of our campus.
In addition to creating a picnic for sometime near Earth Day, plan ahead for these upcoming events as well for a family/ friends picnic:
Pentecost Sunday—because we will not be able to have our annual festival of all ethnic food booths, plan your own ‘ethnic’ picnic here that afternoon.
May Monday Night Rosary—continuing the tradition we started last year, the Rosary will be prayed together in the parking lot each Monday in May at 6:00 p.m. Plan on a family/friends picnic before or after that prayer.
We are also blessed to have our pavilion/porch by the St. Clare Garden. Because more families and groups are using that, we are now asking people to call the office and reserve it if you want a specific date. It is still available for spontaneous use as well.
